I am behind on blogs!! Avery is almost 9 months now, so I should catch up a little.
A few days before turning 7 months he learned how to go from laying down to sitting up by himself. This is kind of funny to me because when he was sitting up, he still fell over backward now and then... I figured he would *master* sitting before he learned how to actually get himself into the sitting position. :P This means he would sit up when I was not on the floor with him and then occasionally fall over and wail. He started to army crawl all over and get ontp his hands and knees and rocks. He was also already trying to pull himself to standing, but he still needed help with that. He learned to sign "milk."
Around 7.5 months, he figured out traditional crawling AND pulling himself up to stand. He finally started to show a little more interest in food too, although he is much pickier than Ari ever was. At 8.5 months, he will eat yogurt, beans, cheese, homemade applesauce, cheerios, and a couple others. He is starting to cruise along the furniture and tries really hard to get into a standing position without pulling up on anything.
He loves bath time. He adores his big brother and will calm down better when Ari sings to him than when I do. He gets into EVERYTHING. We need to take baby proofing to a new level; Ari was never this much of an explorer. He doesn't babble much yet but he definitely understands a lot of words and reacts to them, like milk, daddy, mommy, brother, bath, come here, etc.
He still isn't the best nighttime sleeper or napper. But he's a happy dude when he's awake for the most part, so we can't complain too much! His babyhood is just FLYING by. I will be happy to sleep again someday, but I am sad since he is my last baby and it's just going by so quickly.
