I am going to an old co-worker's baby shower tomorrow. She is due with a boy in October. I already gave her a whole bunch of clothes that Ari has outgrown plus Ari's baby bath tub, so I didn't feel like I needed to go to BRU and shop from her registry. But I didn't want to show up to a shower empty handed either. So I found a package of Gerber onesies that we never opened, plus some newborn socks (Ari was born in July, he didn't need them) and I made some onesie "cupcakes." I didn't find big cupcake papers at Target today so rather than going from store to store to look for them, I just used some plastic cups we had left over from our wedding (over two years ago...) and napkins I had left over from Ari's birthday party to hold the cupcakes. I also didn't know where to find a windowed bakery box that doesn't have "Fry's" or "Safeway" or whatever logos on it, so I used one of the tupperware containers that I cleaned out of the cupboard earlier today that was headed to the recycle bin. Then I used ribbon and shredded paper for the finishing touches.
And a few recent Ari pics, just for fun. :)
Walking, walking, walking...
Trying to play with off-limits stuff by mom's desk.
I came home today and as usual was met by an excited little boy, one of the highlights of my day for sure. I got loves and kisses and we settled in. I came out to my computer to check my email and after a few seconds he'd had enough sitting at the computer and wanted to play. I put him down and this is what he started doing....
You can't really hear it in the first segment it's right the beginning but if you listen towards the end of the second you'll hear him. He did it several times before I could get the camera out but this is all we captured. We don't know what he was doing either, we think he was trying to give the floor a zerbert.
I'll tax your feet! Some more rock lyrics worked into a blog. Seems only appropriate considering how much Ari seems to like music. If you hadn't guessed by the title, Ari took off walking this afternoon. We got a few steps on camera. Cara had to lure him to her with the remote after I got the camera out because he wanted the camera. But at least we got some of his first steps on video and we both got the see them at the same time.
So I took these picture the other morning when we went to breakfast. As you can see my phone doesn't take the greatest pictures despite it being a 2 mp camera. Anyway, they are some cute photos and I'll let you guess what he's actually doing.
I'm smelling my napkin of course! And the hilarity that follows smelling a napkin!
